Your perfect colour

Introducing....  Figtree Invitations' brand new colours.

Here at Figtree Invitations, we pride ourselves in being able to create virtually any colour, and nothing has changed there.  However, with such an overwhelming selection, we found that couples often needed a little nudge in the right direction. So we've created a brand new colour list, based on the colours we know you love.

With over 70 of our new 'standard' colours to choose from, there's bound to be something you love. But just in case there's not, we'd still love to create that particular shade you are looking for.

See our colour list in full on our website, and find your perfect colour.

Beautiful Bespoke ranges

Not sure which range to choose, or had something specific in mind for your stationery?  Our bespoke service may just be what you need!  With our background in graphic design, and our obsession with weddings, we just love creating new and unique stationery which reflects the personalities of the couples we work with.  Here is one such recent example...  More are in the pipeline, but of course they're top secret at the moment!!!

Stylishly vintage

Despite not yet having made it onto our website, we've had some fabulous feedback about the new Beatrice range. This simple vintage style is proving to be a bit of a hit, and we've run right out of samples in this range!!  So, to keep those Beatrice fans going in the meantime, here's a sneaky peek!

More samples arriving next week, and we'll have this range up on our main site soon (as soon as we get a spare minute, we promise!!)

The Royal Wedding

Of course, we are always very excited about any wedding, and so we don't need much encouragement to join in any wedding-related celebrations! We're suffering from a small dose of Royal Wedding fever this week, and are off to wave our flags and watch the procedings with friends tomorrow.

We suspect that we're not the only ones getting excited about tomorrow's celebrations - enquiries for our rather regal Victoria range have rocketed over the past week.  We've not yet taken a booking from anyone feeling patriotic enough to have the design printed in red, white and blue...    maybe it could catch on?!?

Best wishes to the happy couple!!

New for spring 2011

We're really excited here at Figtree to be able to present four new ranges to you - soon to be appearing on the website.  We took these out and about with us for the first time last weekend. Victoria - shown below - has generated a huge amount of interest, and looks set to become a new favourite.

All of our ranges, Victoria included, are available in a range of invitation styles including pocket-fold, book and tag invitations. We've shown it here in an elegant sleeve invitation, in both plum and aqua tones.  As always, if you would like a glimpse of Victoria in your own wedding colours, let us know and we'll give you a sneaky peek!

What a weekend!

We at Figtree are feeling rather shattered this morning, after speaking to so many lovely couples over the weekend. We are privileged to have attend Chatsworth's first Wedding Weekend, a two-day wedding event showcasing the beautiful facilities available for weddings in the stables at Chatsworth. On Saturday, we were also at Shottle Hall's open day, complete with a Prince William and Kate lookalike!

Sunday took us to one of our favourite venues, Makeney Hall, in the gorgeous conservatory where we held our own wedding reception a few years ago. So, if you've left your details with us over the weekend, we will get in touch but please do bear with us in the meantime!

The new ranges we previewed this weekend will be on the blog shortly. xx

Reception ribbons

We at Figtree understand the importance of every detail of the wedding reception coordinating perfectly with your theme, and our range of on-the-day stationery is designed with precisely this in mind. As an added bonus, we're pleased to announce that all of the ribbons available for use with our invitations are now available by the roll, in a variety of widths.  Perfect for adding those finishing touches to your reception!

Feel free to get in touch for prices of ribbons by the roll.

Figtree books

Since we launched our book invitations last March, this style has become a real hit, and books are now Figtree's most popular invitation.  Couples tell us that their guests are really impressed by the amount of information provided, with the book allowing a mass of information to be packed in!  We have created maps, gift list poems, hotel information, menu choices and lots more within the pages, and have even turned the back page into an RSVP postcard for some couples.

Many couples are choosing to order books for both their daytime and evening guests, although flat or tag invitations are available as an alternative for the evening.  The book is now available across our full range of designs, with our 'Rose' and 'Rachel' designs being particularly popular.

Look out for the new book ranges coming soon.  In the meantime, here's a reminder of some of our favourites:

Come and say hello!

No, we at Figtree haven't disappeared off the face of the earth, despite the recent lack of blogging activity!  Quite the reverse in fact, we've just not had the time to post, in between creating a vast array wedding stationery for all of our lovely brides and grooms.  What a busy end to 2010, and 2011 has started off in the same way! We are booking up fast for this year's weddings, and are talking to couples getting married in 2012 (and beyond).

We'll be out and about over the coming weeks at various events across the region.  They are all free to attend, and we'd love you to come and say hello!  We take a wide range of our stationery with us, to provide inspiration for your own wedding. Have a chat to us about your ideas, and we'll  help you to develop them.

Have a look at the list on the right to see where we'll be.  See you there!

It's not just about the invitations...

Figtree don't just produce invitations, so we thought we'd tell you about some of the other items we have created.  This is a receiving box we produced for a couple who got married this summer and chose the lovely 'Emily' design in a sage green colour for their stationery. The box was part of a whole range of stationery, from invitations to table names, a seating plan and thank you cards.  The photo shows the box in situ at the wedding, which took place at Breadsall Priory.

Other items we have produced recently are lottery favour-wallets, which double as place names, and a set of wishing tree tags, for use as an alternative guest book (and creates a real feature).  We love to make our stationery work for you, so if you have an idea in mind, why why not let us co-ordinate it with your invitations and table stationery?

Beautiful butterflies

Due to the number of requests we have had recently for a butterfly theme, Figtree have been fluttering away to produce the brand new Esme range - in perfect time for spring / summer 2011 weddings. Esme will appear on the website within the next week, but in the meantime we are treating you to a sneak preview here on the blog. Esme is a subtle design, printed on our beautiful pearlescent paper.  We love how it looks in pastel colours, and think it works especially well as a sleeve-style invitation.  As always, we will be working with couples to adapt the design, so expect to also be seeing it in the pocket-fold and book designs over the coming months.  Hope you like it!

Potty for Purple!!

We have noticed a distinct trend this spring / summer, with future brides going potty for purple wedding stationery!  With this year's couples choosing more muted shades, we can see that 2011 and 2012 weddings having a much brighter theme.  We have had a number of enquiries about purple stationery across almost all of our ranges, and thought we would show you some of the mock-ups we have created for couples here.  Maybe you'll be inspired!!! (P.S. Other colours are available)

If you would like a particular shade of purple (or any other colour) for your wedding, feel free to get in touch, and we will be more than happy to send you some mock-ups of your own.  Just give us details of the design you are interested in, as well as your wedding details, and we will get back to you.

Breadsall Priory Wedding Fayre

We're posting this a little late, after a hectic week, with the 2010 wedding season starting to get into full swing..  Last week ended with figtree spending a fantastic day in the beautiful sunshine at Breadsall Priory on Sunday.  It was lovely to see so many couples planning their day there at Breadsall, along with those who were due to celebrate elsewhere.  We would encourage those couples who enquired about stationery for later this year to book as soon as possible, as we would hate to disappoint!

The weather really did show Breadsall's grounds off in their full splendour, and the sunlight streamed into the beautiful room where we had our stand.  We were lucky to be sharing a room with Louise from The Greenery florist, who was showing some gorgeous arrangements

Thank you so much to Katie, Breadsall Priory's wedding co-ordinator, for a very well organised event.  We look forward to returning in September.

Figtree at Harts

We've had a busy day in Nottingham at the Harts Hotel and Restaurant wedding fair today. Harts is a very chic city centre venue, serving the most exquisite food, in a wonderfully elegant atmosphere. Kelly (Harts' wedding co-ordinator) has just started offering a Cheese Wedding Cake as an option for couples holding their wedding with them, which provides a very quirky alternative to a traditional cake, and I think would double up beautifully as evening nibbles!

We also loved the beautiful work of Rachael Connerton, wedding photographer, who's attention to the all important details of the weddings she has worked on really caught my eye, along with Pam Gibson floral designs, who brought some beautiful displays to the fair.

We've hardly had time to draw breath all day, and have met some lovely couples. We'll be getting in touch with those who requested further information over the next few days. In the meantime, welcome to our website and blog to those who haven't come across us before!

The photo above is our stand just before the show opened.

Rachel has arrived!

Finally, we are able to show you the new 'Rachel' range. This is my personal favourite design from our portfolio, and I particularly love the blue. We had some really lovely feedback about this design when we took it to The Risley Park last Sunday, and Rachel is all set to become one of our most popular ranges.

We've shown you some pictures of the new Rachel booklet invitation in a delicious chocolate brown here, which I hope you'll agree looks lovely! Other colours are on the website, including a burnt orange, which is fab for giving a really feminine feel to your wedding stationery, whilst still making a statement.

Rachel and Freya are both now on the website.

The Risley Park

We just wanted to say a quick 'hello' to all of the couples we spoke to at The Risley Park on Sunday. We were really impressed with the fantastic refurbishment the venue has undertaken, and we certainly plan to pop in for a meal in the near future! Thank you so much Sally and Helen from Honeysuckle and Castle for organising the event, and making the day run so smoothly!

We're off to Harts Hotel in Nottingham next week...

Our new ranges

We are really excited to be able to launch two new ranges which we are adding to our portfolio. You will be able to see some pictures of the long-awaited 'Rachel' design over the next few days, but here's one to keep you going.
The ' Freya' range has a crisp, contemporary feel, and looks exceptionally striking in this hot pink. We've packed the wedding information into this booklet, so that your guests are very much kept 'in the know'.

If you are looking for something a little more simple, we also have a flat invitation in this range. Of course, you can also order the usual selection of stationery, including table plans, menus and thank-you cards to match.

This design will be going onto the website over the next week or so, but we wanted to let you see it first.

Hope you like it!

Chatsworth's winter wonderland

We were at Chatsworth House this weekend for their very much anticipated first wedding fair. After setting up our stand yesterday, we woke this morning to find that Derbyshire had been covered with a thick blanket of snow! As the roads around Chatsworth were so difficult, the team at Chatsworth had to make the very difficult decision to call the event off. I know that this was a huge disappointment for all involved, but the weather left little choice. Chatsworth was absolutely spectacular in the snow though, the team really looked after us. It would make a fantastic wedding venue, and the suppliers who had made it today were of a very high standard (all carefully chosen by Chatsworth, so what would you expect?). We look forward to returning when we next get the chance! www.chatsworth.org

Our new blog!

We'll be posting details of things we are doing, places we are going and people we are meeting right here on our new blog, so keep you eyes peeled! Look out for our new range coming soon. We're working on it at the moment and will post some photos as soon as we get the samples back from the printers.
