It's not just about the invitations...

Figtree don't just produce invitations, so we thought we'd tell you about some of the other items we have created.  This is a receiving box we produced for a couple who got married this summer and chose the lovely 'Emily' design in a sage green colour for their stationery. The box was part of a whole range of stationery, from invitations to table names, a seating plan and thank you cards.  The photo shows the box in situ at the wedding, which took place at Breadsall Priory.

Other items we have produced recently are lottery favour-wallets, which double as place names, and a set of wishing tree tags, for use as an alternative guest book (and creates a real feature).  We love to make our stationery work for you, so if you have an idea in mind, why why not let us co-ordinate it with your invitations and table stationery?

Beautiful butterflies

Due to the number of requests we have had recently for a butterfly theme, Figtree have been fluttering away to produce the brand new Esme range - in perfect time for spring / summer 2011 weddings. Esme will appear on the website within the next week, but in the meantime we are treating you to a sneak preview here on the blog. Esme is a subtle design, printed on our beautiful pearlescent paper.  We love how it looks in pastel colours, and think it works especially well as a sleeve-style invitation.  As always, we will be working with couples to adapt the design, so expect to also be seeing it in the pocket-fold and book designs over the coming months.  Hope you like it!

Potty for Purple!!

We have noticed a distinct trend this spring / summer, with future brides going potty for purple wedding stationery!  With this year's couples choosing more muted shades, we can see that 2011 and 2012 weddings having a much brighter theme.  We have had a number of enquiries about purple stationery across almost all of our ranges, and thought we would show you some of the mock-ups we have created for couples here.  Maybe you'll be inspired!!! (P.S. Other colours are available)

If you would like a particular shade of purple (or any other colour) for your wedding, feel free to get in touch, and we will be more than happy to send you some mock-ups of your own.  Just give us details of the design you are interested in, as well as your wedding details, and we will get back to you.

Breadsall Priory Wedding Fayre

We're posting this a little late, after a hectic week, with the 2010 wedding season starting to get into full swing..  Last week ended with figtree spending a fantastic day in the beautiful sunshine at Breadsall Priory on Sunday.  It was lovely to see so many couples planning their day there at Breadsall, along with those who were due to celebrate elsewhere.  We would encourage those couples who enquired about stationery for later this year to book as soon as possible, as we would hate to disappoint!

The weather really did show Breadsall's grounds off in their full splendour, and the sunlight streamed into the beautiful room where we had our stand.  We were lucky to be sharing a room with Louise from The Greenery florist, who was showing some gorgeous arrangements

Thank you so much to Katie, Breadsall Priory's wedding co-ordinator, for a very well organised event.  We look forward to returning in September.

Figtree at Harts

We've had a busy day in Nottingham at the Harts Hotel and Restaurant wedding fair today. Harts is a very chic city centre venue, serving the most exquisite food, in a wonderfully elegant atmosphere. Kelly (Harts' wedding co-ordinator) has just started offering a Cheese Wedding Cake as an option for couples holding their wedding with them, which provides a very quirky alternative to a traditional cake, and I think would double up beautifully as evening nibbles!

We also loved the beautiful work of Rachael Connerton, wedding photographer, who's attention to the all important details of the weddings she has worked on really caught my eye, along with Pam Gibson floral designs, who brought some beautiful displays to the fair.

We've hardly had time to draw breath all day, and have met some lovely couples. We'll be getting in touch with those who requested further information over the next few days. In the meantime, welcome to our website and blog to those who haven't come across us before!

The photo above is our stand just before the show opened.

Rachel has arrived!

Finally, we are able to show you the new 'Rachel' range. This is my personal favourite design from our portfolio, and I particularly love the blue. We had some really lovely feedback about this design when we took it to The Risley Park last Sunday, and Rachel is all set to become one of our most popular ranges.

We've shown you some pictures of the new Rachel booklet invitation in a delicious chocolate brown here, which I hope you'll agree looks lovely! Other colours are on the website, including a burnt orange, which is fab for giving a really feminine feel to your wedding stationery, whilst still making a statement.

Rachel and Freya are both now on the website.

The Risley Park

We just wanted to say a quick 'hello' to all of the couples we spoke to at The Risley Park on Sunday. We were really impressed with the fantastic refurbishment the venue has undertaken, and we certainly plan to pop in for a meal in the near future! Thank you so much Sally and Helen from Honeysuckle and Castle for organising the event, and making the day run so smoothly!

We're off to Harts Hotel in Nottingham next week...

Our new ranges

We are really excited to be able to launch two new ranges which we are adding to our portfolio. You will be able to see some pictures of the long-awaited 'Rachel' design over the next few days, but here's one to keep you going.
The ' Freya' range has a crisp, contemporary feel, and looks exceptionally striking in this hot pink. We've packed the wedding information into this booklet, so that your guests are very much kept 'in the know'.

If you are looking for something a little more simple, we also have a flat invitation in this range. Of course, you can also order the usual selection of stationery, including table plans, menus and thank-you cards to match.

This design will be going onto the website over the next week or so, but we wanted to let you see it first.

Hope you like it!

Chatsworth's winter wonderland

We were at Chatsworth House this weekend for their very much anticipated first wedding fair. After setting up our stand yesterday, we woke this morning to find that Derbyshire had been covered with a thick blanket of snow! As the roads around Chatsworth were so difficult, the team at Chatsworth had to make the very difficult decision to call the event off. I know that this was a huge disappointment for all involved, but the weather left little choice. Chatsworth was absolutely spectacular in the snow though, the team really looked after us. It would make a fantastic wedding venue, and the suppliers who had made it today were of a very high standard (all carefully chosen by Chatsworth, so what would you expect?). We look forward to returning when we next get the chance! www.chatsworth.org

Our new blog!

We'll be posting details of things we are doing, places we are going and people we are meeting right here on our new blog, so keep you eyes peeled! Look out for our new range coming soon. We're working on it at the moment and will post some photos as soon as we get the samples back from the printers.
